2009 Distinguished Writer in Residence
Ciarán Carson, a musician and poet, has published two books on Irish traditional music, The Pocket Guide to Traditional Music (1986) and Last Night’s Fun (1997). He was in residence at Georgetown University from March 1 – 6, 2009.
The Distinguished Writer in Residence program, a pre-cursor to the Caine Prize residency, brings well-known and emergent authors to Georgetown University for varying lengths of time.
