Directions

Lannan Center for Poetics and Social Practice is located on the main campus of Georgetown University, on the fourth floor of the New North building. Our events take place primarily in Copley Formal Lounge, Copley Hall. Below are a few ways to get to the main campus:

Driving

If driving to Georgetown University, there are two parking options available to you: street parking at the main campus’ entrance or the Southwest Parking Garage. The main entrance is located at 37th St. and O St. NW. The surrounding streets offer limited metered and free parking. This is the best option if you are only planning to be on campus for a few hours or if you will be starting parking at or after 6:30 PM. If you plan to stay on campus for an extended period of time, such as for one of our events, you should park in the Southwest Garage, which is accessible via Canal Road NW. This garage is cash only. Visitors should use 3611 Canal Road NW as the address when mapping directions using GPS. View more detailed driving directions to campus. Daily parking starts at $25.00 then drops to $15.00 after 3 PM and $9.00 after 7:00 PM. Student Parking Rate with GU ID after 5:00 PM is $5.00.

Public Transportation

The university is not easily accessible if you are traveling via public transit. There are a few buses that stop near campus or on Wisconsin Avenue, such as the D’s, 30’s, and the DC Circulator. The G2 bus line ends just in front of the university gates. Georgetown University also offers a free shuttle service, GUTS. GUTS provides shuttles between multiple spots on campus and high traffic locations like the Rosslyn and Dupont Metro, the Law Center, parts of Arlington and Wisconsin Avenue. These buses are available to the public, but you are required to show a photo I.D., and log in your name and reason for visiting with the driver. If you are planning to use public transportation, please consult WMATA’s trip planner tool.

Once you have arrived on campus, use our campus map to find your way around, and feel free to call (202) 687-6294 for further assistance.
