Montana Ray

Montana Ray is Clinical Assistant Professor, Writing and Translation, at NYU. She holds an MFA in poetry and translation and a PhD in comparative literature from Columbia University. Ray translates from Portuguese and Spanish and writes archive-driven nonfiction. She is also the author of several artist books and a book of concrete poetry, (guns & butter). Her scholarly interests include Translation Studies, Latin American and Southern Cultures, Performance Studies, Ethnicity, Race, and Indigenous Studies, and Feminism. Prior to NYU, Ray taught essay writing at Columbia University.
