Symposium & Festival: "The World Republic of Literature"
The 2006 Lannan Symposium brings together an outstanding group of world-renowned and emergent writers from across the globe to discuss the changing function of the public writer in the early 21st century. The World Republic of Literature explores the transmission of literature beyond the bounds of the nation, raising important questions about the changing functions of the artist, the writer, and the intellectual in the early 21st century.
